Ouch! Usually I enjoy your posts but that last remark about a whining post..I'm not ready yet to see the humour in that.
Those who are hurting need this forum for healing not more hurtful remarks.

i am new to this site.
i just want to say that its great, always nice to know that you're not alone in the fight.
i wish all current jws could be forced to sit and read through all these posts just once.....but thats dreaming, i guess.. it seems that from the psychological aspect the experience can be horrible.
Hi Heff:
I'm with you on wishing all JW's would have to read these posts.
Hopefully the number having their eyes opened would be greater than the type of effect it's had on a current poster StiLLinTruth. He's read and "studied" several sites with his study conductor when coming into the "truth" and his arrogant, self-satisfied, you're all dog dirt, attitude is unbelievable. He's the type of JW that has contributed and even caused the fall, depression, worthless feelings that many of those who have left the org. and are here, have felt or many are still feeling. If someone like him becomes an elder there'll be a even greater exodus.
Welcome here, You'll find many friends who enjoy giving encouragement and a good funny stories too.
Hi Hippikon:
I'd be interested too in the Candadian report you mentioned about the psycological effects of df'ing. I know for a fact the effects are devastating. JW's spout scriptures about Jehovah discipling those he loves....and...no discipline seems pleasant at the time, but it's for our own good.
That's not discipline. That's just plain cruel, vindictive, controlling, maniacal, lunacy breaking up happy family lives.
I've so...

i've notice that there is a tendency by quite a few jw's who are not 100% in agreement with the gb to speak about "reform".
the few i've spoken to have not been able to tell me what exactly they mean by reforming the wts.
so if there are any "reformers" aroung here ( that goes for you too lurkers .
Hi all:
I certainly hope it can be reformed. I still have family deeply intrenched in it.
But it'll be a long task bringing it down with the arrogant, smug, active ones like StiLLinTruth posting his typical holier than thou drivel here on the current post "What Did you Do?"
I personally would like to see all like him brought to their knees.

to all those who have in some way left the organization (be it disfellowshipping, disassociating, dis-whatever):.
come now, i know the amount of people who "realized that wt doctrine was in serious error" and politely handed in their letter of resignation has to be very small.
the level of bitterness and hostility towards the closest-to-what's-biblical organization has to develop some other way.. what did you do?
StiLL:
If you ever become an elder with an haughty attitude like yours, you will be a typical example of why many of us left.
I have met former elders here that you couldn't even measure up to half of their worth. They too left, because they saw, even more than some of us, the brutality and hypocricy in the ranks of the 'powers that be'.
Possibly one day you will be on the receiving end of what many of us here have experienced. If not I can guarantee, you will be among the ones handing it out the hurt... and you then will have to answer to God for that.
You've obviously touched a raw nerve here, just what you wanted to do.
But I challange you to accept the offer made by Francoise...to stick around and discuss some of the topics here with anyone. Perhaps you will gain some insight on what's REALLY going on with the mass exodus from the org.

Hello StiLL:
Have you even bothered to read any of the posts here about what happened to us?
I can remember being where you are now. Snug and smug in my knowledge that we were the ONLY true religion and how much better we were that all those "WORLDLY" fools. But while I let my blood pressure relax a bit I will say only one thing for now.
Before you start spouting off about how degenerate we are, take some time to read the posts of what really has happened to most of us.
Don't tell me you have read them and have come on here with that holier than thou attitude. And then ask yourself if you can picture Jesus the loving Shepherd search for his lost sheep with your kind of attitude.
I've seen a lot in my many years "in the truth" and I along with most others here, left because of the UNLOVING treatment received not to be immoral. Your attitude is typical of why many of us have left.
I definitely have...

just like the urban legends that we all heard at assemblies, we also read questions from readers in the wts rags...did you guys ever read those while you were still jws and think "oh my god...there is no way that some 8 year old wrote or even said any of this.
" or when you heard at assemblies that we should be soooo thankful because the brothers in africa are walking through gator infested, malarial waters with their children on their backs and their book bags and meeting clothes on their heads, through monsoon rains 74 miles each way to attend their assemblies.
my mother used to say the same thing about cleaning my plate because there were kids in whoknowswhere starving to death.
LovesDubs:
I've always wondered where the 'Questions from Readers' came from and how come the WTS printed them, because I remember a meeting part telling us not to write questions to the Headquarters. We were to first search out the question for ourselves from the publications and then..if we couldn't find the answer to go to the elders for help. It seems it was 'our responsibility' to do the work ourselves, and that the HQ would return our question to the elders to correct us. Searching the answer for ourselves proved our maturity.
Anyone else remember that?

what i find bemusing is, if there are any disfellowshipped ones in your hall they have to sit at the back.
now without getting into the merits/rights/wrongs of whether this should be still acceptable, where do they sit in your hall?
you see i seem to remember that they would sit on the back row, come in quietly just after the song and prayer and leave at the end just as quick.
Hi there ns7:
I can attest to the fact of how humiliating it is for df'd to have to continue to be ostacized at the meeting when just being there is to be a sign of repentance and a being there is a requirement in order to be reinstated. I couldn't then and I cannot now understand the mentality that thinks this further humiliation in all part of humbling a person.
I used to come in a little early to get a back seat because like in many halls most often the back seats are always filled up first, so I arrived early just to try to get a back seat be as inconspicuous as possible. Then I was told I had to come in after the song and prayer so that meant I had to walk up to near the front to get an outside seat away from others.
Then I was told I had to sit at the back row so the attendant would save me a seat. Trouble was many times he either wasn't there or he forgot. So meeting after meeting were filled with humiliation. To me it is dispicable pour salt on their wounds!!! And to make this last for a year "in order to see evidence of their heart condition because the elders can't read a df'd persons heart" is totally absurd!!!
What surprises me is, when I brought this point up in my thread last week in "RE:Ozzie's post about Restriction..." some current JW named 'Humble' said "You are wrong...There are no restrictions on seating" for the df'd. Well I hope he and any others who think we're making theses things up are reading these posts now.
I have a lot more to say on this whole subject of df'ing but I'll save that for another post. This, and a gazillion more things, are the reason why I've:

Welcome aboard. Looking forward to your input.

i have been "lurking" around the "apostate" sites for the last year or so.
i am glad i have!
To Mole:
Welcome to the family too Mole! You too will find much satisfaction here from finally getting answers that make sense. No more "well just accept it because the powers that be say so and Jehovah will make it clear later". How many times I heard that I could scream!
Lots of us are new here and have told there story. We all have one. But we certainly don't get told to not ask questions, or we'll be booted out. The answers are here. Someone's always been there already and can at least offer support while you work things out for yourself. Question away! And keep us posted as to your progress (even if there is none for awhile post anyway!)

Hi 30 years:
Glad to have you join us. I too have been raised in the org. for a little over 40 years. I know how good I felt after I finally took the plunge and joined in after "lurking" here for a couple of weeks. I needed answers, (and I still do) and I just couldn't hold it in any longer and the dam just burst. But boy did I feel relieved when I received such a warm welcome. So just want to add my welcome to you to this family.
You've already received much sound advice like I did and I've found it already helping me.
I know that I just have to take my time with my family who are still locked in even though I'm just bursting inside to say something. Any kind of pushing on my part will just make them clam up so I just bide my time.
At least here you can talk to people who have been through this or are still going through it and you'll just feel better having someplace to talk, cry, vent, question, whatever.
Looking forward to hearing things from the perspective of another elder (former).
I too have,
